Pro bono & community
Norton Gledhill is conscious of supporting the community that provides our lawyers with opportunities to undertake valuable and rewarding work. We also seek to learn from those in fields different to our own.
Some examples of our work in the community and pro bono advice includes:
- assisting The Kimberley Foundation Australia (which raises funds to research, preserve and promote Kimberley rock art) on a pro bono basis for several years on matters concerning Aboriginal rock art and culture. Bruce Cameron has been actively involved as a board member since 2010.
- assisting the Footscray Community Legal Centre and now Western Community Legal Centre Limited. Sarah Strapps has been a member of the management committee of the Footscray Community Legal Centre since 2007 and is now a director and the company secretary of the newly formed Western Community Legal Centre Limited. These entities provide free legal assistance and financial counselling for the benefit of people who live, work or study in Melbourne’s west.
